Germania Produzione Industriale (Mensile)

Germany’s industrial production rose by 1.2% month-over-month in May 2025, beating market expectations of a flat reading and rebounding from a revised 1.6% decline in April. The recovery was driven by strong gains in the automotive sector (4.9%), pharmaceuticals (10.0%), and energy production (10.8%). However, construction output contracted by 3.9%, and production in energy-intensive industries fell by 1.8%. In a less volatile three-month average, production from March to May increased by 1.4% compared to the previous three-month period. Year-on-year, production grew 1.0%, reversing a 2.1% drop in April, signaling a modest improvement in Germany’s manufacturing sector.
