Hourly labor costs in the Euro Area rose by 4.6% from the previous year in the third quarter of 2024, slowing from the upwardly revised 5.2% rise in the previous quarter, and in line with the preliminary estimates. Wages and salaries rose by 4.4%, while the non-wage component of the index rose by a sharper 5.2%. Across the bloc’s key sectors, labor costs were the highest for construction(5%), industry (4.6%), and services (4.5%).
