la bilancia commerciale (BOT), fa riferimento alla differenza tra il valore monetario delle importazioni e delle esportazioni di un paese in un determinato periodo di tempo. Una bilancia commerciale positiva indica un surplus commerciale mentre una bilancia commerciale negativa indica un deficit commerciale. Il BOT è una componente importante nel determinare il conto corrente di un paese.

Albania’s trade deficit narrowed to ALL 42 billion in May 2025, down from ALL 43 billion in May 2024, driven by a 1.2% rise in exports and a 2.1% drop in imports. Export growth was supported by higher sales of minerals, fuels, and electricity (+6.2 pp), food, beverages, and tobacco (+1.4 pp), and textiles and footwear (+1 pp). In contrast, construction materials and metals dragged exports down by -5.8 pp. The decline in imports was mainly due to reduced purchases of minerals, fuels, and electricity (-1.6 pp) and construction materials and metals (-1.2 pp), while food, beverages, and tobacco (+0.8 pp), chemicals and plastics (+0.5 pp), and textiles and footwear (+0.4 pp) increased. Exports rose sharply to Kosovo (+51.5%), Spain (+33.7%), and Turkiye (+53.2%), but declined to Italy (-8%), Greece (-3.1%), and Germany (-4.3%). Imports fell from Italy (-3.6%) and Turkey (-7.5%) but rose from China (+25.1%), Greece (+1.2%), and Germany (+4%).
